The greatest story about Mandua pattern design is that there’s an unclear consensus of where the designs come from and how they got to be, or even thier detailed meaning except that they are Mandau. Our duty as creatives at #ThokozaGogo is to further find and interrogate that information of who, when and how in history created this or is it our Indian descendants perhaps? As they are affluent in our textile production we have in our culture as a whole. In the meantime we will reimagine and recreate to the current meanings of what we get on New visions of enhancing the mystery behind design holistically. ThokozaGogo Blanket Designs front and back coming up from tomorrow.
We are about to own our culture and and it’s symbols and ancient design, they are not going to give it us so we will recreate and reimagine. An entire collection of new Amabhayi (cloths and throw fleece and mink blankets) is coming with refreshing designs that are enhanced by us, created by us and print produced locally by us and entire collection of 12 Mabhayi’s in our heritage language too that speaks to us in Design, Art Direction, our purpose, calling and the love of doing right what our ancestors couldn’t perfect. As creatives at #thokozagogo this is our duty. Reigniting Culture back back to the African narrative. Sikhathele. #Ndauwe#Mandau#waterspirits
